About Us
Hi! We are Steve Jackson and Nick Byrne, a driving team with a passion for turning complete novices into safe and confident drivers.
We’re Edinburgh driving instructors and help pupils of all abilities master manual driving. We pride ourselves on providing consistent quality instruction and a friendly learning environment.
Compass was founded 15 years ago by car fanatic Steve to pass on his passion for cars and driving- we aim to instil the same skill and passion for driving into each of our students today!

Our Cars
Our instructor vehicles are the brilliant Hyundai i20 and Ford Fiesta. You’ll be learning in cars that are:

Relaxed Atmosphere
Learning to drive can be nerve-wracking! We believe a relaxed environment is optimal for learning, and we strive to provide this while maintaining safety and alertness.
Dedicated manual transmission teaching
We specialize exclusively in teaching manual transmission driving. As teachers, we believe that learning manual offers more control, comprehension and flexibility. You’ll be able to drive both manual and automatic cars on completion of our course.
